Sarah Pia Anderson began her career in Britain directing for theatre and television.
She was part of a select group of women directors’ renown for new and classical work at the The Royal National Theatre and The Royal Shakespeare Company.
Trained by the BBC Sarah directed award winning films and series for British television. Her work on PRIME SUSPECT, the Emmy Award winning mini-series starring Helen Mirren, launched her career in Los Angeles where she now lives and works.
Sarah has directed early episodes of television dramas GILMORE GIRLS, GREY’S ANATOMY, HUFF, BIG LOVE and BOSCH. All of which have gone on to win major awards including the Peabody, Golden Globe and Emmy.
In the UK she directed the pilot and first episode of long running (BAFTA nominated) series, SCOTT & BAILEY, now streaming on HBOMAX.
Her recent work includes opening episodes of SNEAKY PETE (Amazon), BERLIN STATION (Epix), THIS IS US (NBC), TRUTH BE TOLD (Apple) and THE L-WORD: GENERATION Q.
